Staff AccountantAtlanta Big Blue Swim School is a fast-growing franchise system that aims to show kids they can do anything by unlocking their full potential in the water. With 59 open locations providing children’s swim lessons across the US, plus more than 250 additional franchise locations sold, The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close, with a particular focus on the unique reporting needs of a multi-entity franchisor. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAPPerform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliationsReconcile bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts across multiple entitiesAssist with royalty and franchise fee calculations, billing, and collections trackingSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as neededPrepare supporting schedules and workpapers for internal reporting and external auditsAssist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedulesHelp maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsSupport budget-to-actual variance analysis and ad hoc financial reportingCollaborate with FP&A, AP/AR, and franchise operations teams to ensure accurate and timely financial dataAssist with sales tax filings and other compliance-related reportingParticipate in system implementations or process improvement initiatives as the company scales Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3–5 years of accounting experience (public accounting, multi-unit, or franchise experience a plus)Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesExperience with ERP/accounting software (e.g.Sage Intacct), multi-entity accounting software experience preferredStrong Excel skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsCPA track or progress toward CPA a plus, but not required We Offer: Hybrid/WFH flexibility with a collaborative home base in the Atlanta areaComprehensive health benefits with a substantial employer premium contributionCompetitive time off program401k with company matchCompetitive total compensation package including 15% performance bonus eligibility.
