Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant position is available at the Bank of Utah's Ogden Branch. The Bank of Utah was founded in 1952 and is one of Utah’s largest privately owned community banks. It has been recognized as S&P Global Top 20 Bank for two consecutive years and a Top 100 Fastest Growing Company.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile various general ledger and deposit accounts, researching and resolving outstanding items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain decision models for setting daily positions at the Federal Reserve and correspondent banks; buy and sell federal funds as required, posting corresponding general ledger entries.
• Serve as backup in balancing the general ledger and clearing related non-posts.
• Prepare reports and ensure accurate submission to the Federal Reserve Bank (e.g., FR2900).
• Assist with preparation of quarterly Call Report, monthly Board reporting, and other management reports as requested.
• Prepare allocation entries for posting to the general ledger.
• Review and approve accounts payable invoices; prepare payment checks for distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or several years’ experience in a similar accounting role preferred.
• Ability to reconcile all types of accounts and resolve outstanding items.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong follow-through to ensure timely completion of assignments and duties.
• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office systems.
• Experience with Banking core systems (Fiserv preferred).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Pay

The wage listed is within the range associated with this position. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

This role is full-time, Monday - Friday (Business Hours), at the Bank of Utah's Ogden Branch located at 2605 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT.
