About the role

Baltimore Country Club in Baltimore, MD is looking to hire a full-time Staff Accountant to aid our Business Office in creating memorable experiences for our members and their guests. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has already experienced the accounting world through an internship. This position will operate Monday through Friday with monthly inventory counts that might fall on a weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly high-volume hospitality accounts receivable function
  • Processing payments
  • Preparation of various monthly and ad-hoc reports for management and Club committees
  • Answering Member billing inquiries
  • Check and post A/R payment batches
  • Full life-cycle of events and other Club departmental billing
  • Process ACH reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Analyze G/L accounts
  • Compose and distribute reports, mailings, etc.
  • Create and distribute Member statements
  • Maintain postage machine and office supply ordering
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications

  • College Degree in related field strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience strongly preferred
  • Polished and professional demeanor in manner and appearance
  • Solid judgement, ability to anticipate, and skilled in multi-tasking at a high level
  • Excellent communication and member/customer service skills
  • High attention for detail and great organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; 10-Key by touch; ability to type 60-65 wpm
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Available to work flexible hours to assist with Club & Member events
  • Must be able to speak and write in English
  • Within 24 months of holding position, this person must take and pass the Accounts Receivable Certification, paid for by the Club
  • Experience working in a Country Club or Hospitality environment is strongly preferred, but not required

Pay

Competitive wage based on skills and experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with monthly inventory counts that might fall on a weekend.
