Staff Accountant
About the role
The AMB Family Office (AMBFO) provides investment management and financial planning services to Arthur Blank and members of his family. AMBFO also serves the Blank Family of Businesses (BFOB), which includes The Arthur M. This full-time, in-office role reports to the Director of Finance and handles traditional accounting and finance duties for multiple entities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, prepare, and document daily general-ledger transactions, monthly closing entries, and intercompany processing and balancing.
- Work with accounts payable to process and approve payments; handle employee reimbursements and company credit-card tracking.
- Perform bank-account reconciliations and track and reconcile capital expenditures.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly financial reporting package (balance sheets, income statements, and variance commentary).
- Prepare and analyze the annual budget, generate presentations, collaborate with department heads, reforecast the current year, and provide variance commentary.
- Support ad-hoc internal reporting, financial analysis, and other projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
- 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Windows-based accounting systems; proficiency in Word.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Demonstrated aptitude with general-ledger systems, subsystems, and system interfaces.
- Proven ability to support improvements in GL systems and financial reporting processes.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a small-team environment with moderate supervision.
- High level of confidentiality, strong communication, effective time-management, and organizational capabilities.

Schedule
In-office presence five days a week, with flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
