Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to assist in maintaining property management software, including owner setup, reviewing statements, posting payments, and troubleshooting issues. This role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. First-day medical benefits and company profit sharing are offered, along with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly closing, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Work closely with managers to prepare budgets and assist in monthly variance analysis
• Reconcile general ledger account activity
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and assist managers with quarterly inventory counts at various locations
• Support additional projects and general accounting tasks as needed

Requirements

• Accounting degree
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
• Verifiable experience analyzing data and communicating results in an organized fashion
• Experience with SAP, Jonas, or QuickBooks is a plus

Skills

• Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting systems, financial chart of accounts, and corporate accounting processes
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from coworkers, managers, and customers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a group environment
