About the role
The role is dedicated to providing comprehensive support services to foster youth and adoptive families. This includes counseling, mentoring, and facilitating access to community resources.
Responsibilities
- Counseling foster youth and their families on mental health issues
- Mentoring foster youth to help them navigate life transitions
- Facilitating access to community resources such as education, housing, and employment opportunities
- Collaborating with other professionals in the field to provide holistic care
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in social services or counseling
- Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Pass a background check and drug screening
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse populations
- Experience working with foster youth and their families
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
