Staff Accountant
About the role
Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Staff Accountant performs a wide range of accounting activities and financial analysis including month-end activities, reporting, and various reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations and track weekly cash postings.
- Perform month-end close duties including recurring tasks, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain subledgers and amortization schedules.
- Research and reconcile discrepancies for assigned account reconciliations.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and prepare monthly elimination entries.
- Record deposits and customer payments.
- Monitor accounting transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP, DFARS, and company policy.
- Support financial statement preparation and account fluctuation analysis.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with developing and improving accounting policies, guidelines, and internal controls.
- Maintain documentation and procedures in accordance with company policy.
- Analyze data and create ad hoc reports as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance—U.S. Citizenship required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Familiarity with DFARS a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work individually and with other team members with minimum supervision.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline required.
- 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience with emphasis on General Ledger.
- Government Contracting or defense industry experience a plus.
- Unanet, Deltek, or other ERP systems experience required.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience required.
- BlackLine software experience a plus.

Pay
Salary Range: $80,000—$100,000 USD
