About the role
A fast-growing financial services firm is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join its Accounting team. This position will help oversee the firm’s day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, cash receipts, and journal entries. The Staff Accountant will also support monthly financial reporting, planning, and analysis. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment. Only current Colorado residents will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipt activity.
- Enter, code, and process invoices, disbursements, and electronic payments.
- Prepare checks and maintain accurate payment records.
- Reconcile bank accounts, deposits, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities.
- Generate invoices and maintain current accounting records.
- Process recurring state tax payments and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Support ACH Positive Pay and other banking controls.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, analysis, and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Job offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, inclusive of fingerprinting and reference checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Previous experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.

- Base salary range of $52,500 to $62,500 per year, based on experience.
