Staff Accountant
The Role
The Staff Accountant is a backfill position due to company growth and recent promotions. This role supports the month-end and year-end closes, as well as the annual audit process. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Maintaining complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Book monthly journal entries and maintain accounting schedules.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, and other accounting departments to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Work with external tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely filings and assist or prepare local returns as necessary.
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Support the month-end and year-end closes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations. Book monthly journal entries and maintain accounting schedules. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, and others in the accounting department to ensure timely and accurate financial results. Work with external tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely filings and assist or prepare local returns as necessary. Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 2 years minimum of related experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
