Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team at 2B Living. The ideal candidate will have a passion for real estate accounting, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Enter receipts of tenant rent checks
• Enter receipts of other checks received
• Deposit all checks received into the correct operating bank account for the property
• Create and maintain a system of organization to ensure all checks received are deposited on time and errors rates are low
• Complete all required compliance filings and payments for properties under management
• Research required filings for existing jurisdictions that we currently operate in, and for jurisdictions we plan to expand to
• Resolve any delinquent filings/payments or penalty assessments
• Document all compliance requirements for the jurisdictions we operate in
• Create a compliance calendar
• Create a system of processes to ensure filings and payments are made on time and in full
• Daily management of accounting email - Assign emails to the correct recipient within the accounting department
• Manage utility account projects
• Ensure we have online access to all utility accounts for all properties under management
• Document utility login information to store securely and share with other team members
• Confirm method of delivery on utility bills that are missing
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Minimum of two years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
• Accrual-based institutional financial reporting experience preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $32-$37/hr
