Staff Accountant
Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position offers hands-on exposure to multiple areas of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, account reconciliations, invoicing, vendor management, and AIA billing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable functions including posting payments, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
- Prepare and submit AIA billing and construction-related billing documents.
- Support invoicing activities, credits, order corrections, and customer account maintenance.
- Perform collections activities and maintain documentation of customer communications.
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor database management.
- Apply service and sales payments accurately and timely.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities and special projects.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Associate degree plus relevant accounting experience considered
- Experience with:
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Collections
- Account Reconciliations
- Invoicing & Billing
- ERP/Accounting Systems
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Preferred:
- AIA Billing experience
- Construction, contracting, homebuilding, distribution, or building materials industry experience
- Experience with ERP systems such as HomeSource, Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics, Acumatica, or similar platforms
