St. Louis, MO - Sewer Camera Foreman

Department: Gas Distribution, Construction and Maintenance. Reports To: Superintendent. Subordinates: Laborer.

Job Purpose

Use robotic CCTV camera equipment to inspect, locate, and map sanitary and storm sewer systems ahead of natural gas installations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Properly lift tools, objects and equipment of varying weight.
• Enter data in PC video recording software.
• Regular maintenance of mechanical and electronic equipment.
• Use receiver to accurately locate sewer mains and laterals.
• Legibly draw sewer map of construction area.
• Communicate with city utility departments.
• Transfer data between rig and central servers.
• Drive pickup truck/trailer or full-sized van classified as a CMV.
• Set up and maintain safe job site and safe work practices.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid operator’s license. Current DOT physical. (Experience in lieu of education may be considered.)

Experience Required: Professional or personal use of computers and electronics.

Preferred Experience: 1+ year in robotic CCTV operation or utility locating.

Functional / Technical Competency Requirements:

• Use of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Legible handwriting.
• Interact effectively and professionally with the public, customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
• Drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
• Travel regionally and respond to emergency situations.
• Preferred: Use of Prototek or other types of utility locating equipment.

Essential Functions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employees in this classification are required to work extended hours on a regular basis, must be flexible with the work schedule, be able to handle stressful conditions due to productivity and time constraints, and be willing to travel regionally.
