St. Charles Children’s Center- Child Care Assistant-Toddler Room

About the role

The St. Charles Children's Center seeks a dedicated and nurturing Child Care Assistant to join our Toddler Room team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for young children.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious meals and snacks to children
• Assist with daily routines such as diaper changes, bathing, and meal preparation
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents to share updates and address concerns

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for field trips)
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to handle challenging situations
• Ability to follow safety protocols and emergency procedures

Skills

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of child development stages
• Experience with CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
