St. Charles Children’s Center- Child Care Assistant-Preschool Age (3-4 years old)

About the role

St. Charles Children's Center is seeking a Child Care Assistant for our Preschool Age (3-4 years old) classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities for preschool-age children
• Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
• Help with classroom routines including transitions, mealtimes, and rest periods
• Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Assist with classroom preparation and cleanup
• Engage positively with children during play and learning activities
• Communicate effectively with lead teacher and other staff members

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with preschool-age children preferred
• Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Physical ability to sit on floor, bend, stoop, and actively engage with children
