St. Charles Children’s Center- After-School Child Care Assistant

About the role

The St. Charles Children's Center seeks an enthusiastic and experienced After School Child Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children while supporting teachers and ensuring the smooth operation of the after-school program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during playtime, snack time, and other activities.
• Ensure children are supervised at all times to prevent accidents and promote safety.
• Help prepare meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and manage classroom supplies.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with children and adults.
• Basic computer skills.
