About the role

This is an opportunity for a solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be NMG's subject matter expert for Total Rewards, owning benefits and retirement plan operations day to day across our U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico operations.

Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration: Serve as a key resource for team members regarding benefits inquiries, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other company-provided benefits.
    • Drive benefits education efforts, conducting orientations, information sessions, and guiding team members through enrollment and benefit changes.
    • Own the implementation and ongoing optimization of AI tools within the benefits function — deploying them to resolve to reduce manual responses needed and to automate repetitive, tasks, freeing capacity for higher-value work.
    • Proactively identify and drive benefits cost-savings and cost-management opportunities, partnering with brokers and carriers to optimize plan design, contain spend, and maximize the value delivered to team members and the business.
    • Manage annual open enrollment and team member benefit changes throughout the year.
    • Own end-to-end annual plan testing, auditing, and filings.
  • 401(k) Plan Administration: Ensure operations are aligned with goals and objectives and adherence to ERISA regulations.
    • Educate team members about retirement plan benefits and provide support for their inquiries.
    • Own end-to-end annual plan testing, auditing, and filings.
  • Time Off Policies: Own holiday and vacation time off policies, ensuring accurate tracking and communication with team members.
    • Provide guidance on PTO and Sick/Safe Leave usage, accruals, and carryovers in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Worker's Compensation and Leave of Absence Administration: Support and administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA, personal, and other leaves, as well as workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Collaborate with managers, team members, HR Business Partners, and external vendors to ensure smooth processes and timely resolutions.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all total rewards programs are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Prepare reports and provide analysis related to any Total Rewards function.
  • Unemployment Claims Management: Process unemployment claims, ensuring accurate and timely submission of necessary documentation.
    • Reduce paper mail by creating accounts for agencies and processing claims online.
    • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of unemployment data to support compliance and cost management.
  • Compensation Support: This role may also support the pricing of roles through job evaluations, market benchmarking and compensation analysis.
    • Ensure compensation practices align with company objectives and comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Efficiently perform commonly used formulas (e.g., vlookup, IF statements, True/False, TRIM, SUM,) as well as Pivot Tables, charts, drop down lists, etc.
  • Ability to organize and summarize data, make recommendations, and prepare leadership-ready reports and communications.
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms, including the ability to independently configure, troubleshoot, and build custom reports.
  • Experience in a multi-state or global organization.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework governing benefits and HR including but not limited to HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and benefits-related DOL and IRS regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR or CEBS certification.
  • Experience using ADP as the HRIS system of record.
  • Experience working with Total Rewards functions for Canada locations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of leadership, team members, and members of the HR team.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing and administering day-to-day operations.
  • Agility and the ability to independently analyze and build programs/policies/procedures without pre-set structures.
