Sr Test Technician

About the role
This is a skilled onsite position requiring experience with machine assembly procedures and technician skills using instrumentation and test equipment. You will support test operations by setting up fixtures, components, and machines for engineering tests in the development or evaluation of components, systems, and total machines. The role involves participating in the construction and maintenance of test roads and facilities, assisting with up to 50 major test programs per year.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble machine components for evaluation.
- Fabricate and assemble machine and test fixtures.
- Apply strain gages for structural tests.
- Teardown, inspect, and rebuild test and machine components from test programs.
- Perform standard tests on machines and components.
- Communicate professionally with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Perform all duties to acceptable performance standards.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a mechanical setting, preferably in construction or mining maintenance.
- Experience operating haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, or similar equipment.
- Ability to weld.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work in remote locations, supervised or unsupervised.
- Ability to fulfill additional reasonable requests or duties as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ordinary ambulatory skills, including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move light to medium weights up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including grasping.
- Visual acuity for operating equipment and reading application information.
- Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.
Pay
This role offers a hiring range of $68,000 - $80,000. The actual offer will consider factors such as experience and location.
