About the Role
The Senior Teller is responsible for assisting with branch activities, including day-to-day client-facing services and transaction processing. This role provides exceptional customer service, maintains knowledge of bank products and fees, and stays current on offerings to deepen customer relationships. Senior Tellers handle a full range of retail and commercial transactions, may have modest approval limits, and provide guidance to others.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process transactions (deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, ATM, night drop).
- Identify opportunities to refer new products and services to customers based on their financial goals.
- Answer questions and resolve customer concerns regarding bank services.
- Reconcile GL debits and credits for a given location over a specified period.
- Perform vault and ATM balancing, wire processing, holds/stop payments, and monthly certifications.
- Conduct account research and review/verify daily reports assigned by Branch Management.
- Serve as a backup for new accounts processing.
- Adhere to bank policies, operational controls, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of client and bank assets.
- Assist with processing and scanning daily teller work and audit peer transactions.
- Contribute to the branch’s overall goals and assist with training and onboarding new team members.
- Follow all established policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of retail banking experience in a financial services industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to state and federal regulations, including but not limited to: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA), and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
- Intermediate math skills, including calculating interest, percentages, balancing accounts, and interpreting bar graphs.
- Excellent knowledge of bank deposits, lending products, credit products, and services to open accounts.
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional and helpful attitude.
- Ability to identify customer needs and implement effective solutions in a rapidly changing environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment and ability to work with general supervision.
- Effective telephone communication skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay
The base salary offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
