About the role

The Identity Security and Abuse Prevention team is seeking a Senior Technology Program Manager to secure hundreds of thousands of workforce users and tens of millions of customer interactions. You will own the core authentication, authorization, and account management functions that power essential everyday tooling and security features of Amazon operations. This role drives the strategy and delivery of authentication products spanning frontend, backend, customer data, and relationship management tools. You will partner with stakeholders across security, Customer Service, user experience, and engineering to create scalable technology that meets the demands of Amazon's rapidly developing business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact.
  • Deliver and maintain the overall strategy, driving teams inside and outside the organization to achieve results.
  • Design the next generation of customer service authentication systems to meet future business needs.
  • Gain consensus across teams in the security organization and the broader business.
  • Influence without authority, enabling the business securely.
  • Provide context for business and technology choices with a focus on long-term value.
  • Communicate effectively at multiple levels of management, building trust and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Break abstract goals into attainable, measurable work items.
  • Monitor progress of cross-organizational programs involving software development and projects.
  • Drive changes to roadmaps by collaborating with Product Managers and engineering teams, making tradeoff decisions, and understanding their impacts.
  • Engage with business and security leaders to design new authentication mechanisms supporting customers and customer service agents.
  • Communicate program success to senior security and business leaders.
  • Drive large, high-visibility, complex programs with multiple stakeholders from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

Why Customer Service Identity and Access Management (CSIAM), part of Identity Security and Abuse Prevention? CSIAM is customer-obsessed, continuously improving and delivering authentication, authorization, and account management for hundreds of thousands of workforce users—distributed across hundreds of sites worldwide, internally and externally—as well as tens of millions of customer interactions annually. The team safeguards personal information by validating identities and ensuring least-privilege access in Customer Service systems. To achieve this, CSIAM develops product roadmaps, engineering platforms, and systems that drive efficiency, enforce least privilege, and enable secure operations by default.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million-dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is:

  • USA, CA, Irvine: $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually.
  • USA, TX, Austin: $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually.
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually.

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
