About the role

Pinterest is a platform where millions of people discover creative ideas, dream about new possibilities, and plan memorable moments. We aim to help everyone create a life they love through our product. Join us to innovate for millions, grow through passion, celebrate diverse experiences, and enjoy flexible work.

What You’ll Do

  • Own a portfolio of personalization programs spanning recommendation platforms, ranking strategies, and anticipatory experiences.
  • Drive cross-surface execution to scale personalization improvements across various experiences like Homefeed, Explore, SEO landing pages, and board/shopping surfaces.
  • Partner with Relevance and Data Science to ensure ranking and modeling prioritize long-term value and revisit, and that learnings inform future roadmap and investments.
  • Create and run the operating model for personalization, setting cadences, dashboards, and decision forums for program health, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Communicate complex work simply, translating technical modeling and platform efforts into clear narratives about impact on Pinners and the business.
  • Use GenAI as a default tool for TPM work, starting from AI-assisted drafts for core artifacts and redesigning high-toil workflows into AI-first mechanisms.
  • Prototype lightweight AI-assisted helpers to make understanding personalization experiments, performance, and program health easier while adhering to Pinterest’s AI governance and safety-by-design expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager (or similar role) driving complex, cross-functional technical programs.
  • Experience with personalization, recommendations, relevance, or similar ML/AI-driven systems in consumer products.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous personalization problem spaces into clear, actionable roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong communication skills, able to influence cross-functional partners and align stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to create or evolve processes and playbooks for scaling personalization work at scale.
  • Experience using GenAI to accelerate TPM work, “vibe-coding” small helpers with AI coding assistants, and operating within AI governance and safety-by-design expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer and information technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Relocation Statement: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
  • In-Office Requirement Statement: The role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and can be situated anywhere in the country.
