About the role

The PubTech (Publisher Technologies) team builds and operates extensible services that empower publishers (1p and 3p) to improve the monetization of their customer experiences, along with the experiences themselves. We bias toward standards-based and flexible designs that allow publishers the ability to invent on top of our solutions and to interoperate well with other advertising technology providers—both internal and external.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will define and deliver programs with significant complexity and/or broad cross-organizational, global, or technology impact. Your work will focus on large engineering efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. You will operate with complete independence and often tackle areas where the business and/or architectural strategy has not yet been defined.

Responsibilities

  • Partner effectively with all levels of leadership, building consensus and representing complex decisions, trade-offs, and solutions clearly to leaders up to three levels above.
  • Influence organization priorities, system owners, business, and technology direction.
  • Manage cross-functional communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned.
  • Recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior technology failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating these failures.
  • Identify when a design or solution requires additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior engineers or subject matter experts).
  • Drive executive-level escalations with excellent judgment.
  • Deliver solutions that meet Amazon’s high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence.
  • Amplify your impact by educating the TPM and engineering communities on program management best practices, including presenting at internal conferences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.

  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million-dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
