Principal Tech Program Manager, Amazon Ads PubTech
About the role
The PubTech (Publisher Technologies) team builds and operates extensible services that empower publishers (1p and 3p) to improve the monetization of their customer experiences, along with the experiences themselves. We bias toward standards-based and flexible designs that allow publishers the ability to invent on top of our solutions and to interoperate well with other advertising technology providers—both internal and external.
We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager who will define and deliver programs with significant complexity and/or broad cross-organizational, global, or technology impact. Your work will focus on large engineering efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. You will operate with complete independence and are often assigned to areas where the business and/or architectural strategy has not yet been defined. You will partner with all levels of leadership, build consensus, and represent complex decisions, trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders up to three levels above. You influence organization priorities, system owners, business, and technology direction while managing cross-functional communication to ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned.
You recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior technology failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating these failures. You know when a design or solution requires additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior engineers or subject matter experts) and show excellent judgment in driving executive-level escalations. You deliver solutions that meet Amazon’s high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence. You amplify your impact by educating the TPM and engineering communities on program management best practices and participate in internal conferences to share knowledge and collaborate with other TPMs.
