Sr. Technical Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Handle, negotiate and resolve third party commercial general liability and automobile bodily injury and property damage claims to conclusion.
• Conduct and manage the investigative process, while demonstrating ongoing communication with the customer and relevant external parties.
• Document files to include all key activities, contacts made, statements taken, including a full outline covering all aspects of the claim requirements for resolution.
• Demonstrate understanding of medical terms, medical treatment and injury descriptions.
• Demonstrate collaborative efforts in managing the litigation process with outside defense counsel.
• Recognize and evaluate potential exposures under the policy to establish timely, adequate reserves.
• Manage the claim authorization process and negotiate claims with significant complexity.
• Negotiate and settle claims with significant complexity.
• May be deposed or testify in claims negotiations or trials.
• Follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a focus on listening and understanding.
• Provide excellent customer service and uphold a high standard of professionalism.
• Resolve disputes and controversies using a win-win approach.
• Recognize and address differences in opinions and misunderstandings through open discussion and collaboration.
• Take individual responsibility for all actions taken.
• Hold oneself and others accountable to the organization and stakeholders.
• Show strong computer proficiency and multi-jurisdictional experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of multi-line experience including high severity bodily injury claims.
• A current Texas claims adjuster license; additional licenses are a plus.
• Litigation experience required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience.
