About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance leader to make a direct impact in a highly automated medical device manufacturing environment. As the Sr. Supervisor, Maintenance Operations at Insulet's Irvine facility, you will lead a team of skilled technicians responsible for maintaining and improving advanced production equipment and facility systems, driving equipment reliability, safety, and operational excellence. The role offers hands-on leadership, involvement in capital upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives, and the chance to develop high-performing teams while leveraging expertise in automation, troubleshooting, Lean principles, and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute preventative and breakdown maintenance operations for production equipment to meet or exceed baseline capabilities.
  • Ensure all facilities preventative maintenance(s) are scheduled.
  • Serve as the site point person for coordination with Insulet Facilities and as the contact for subcontractors and repairs.
  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians, including setting daily priorities, establishing responsibilities, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring production coverage during absences.
  • Participate hands-on in preventative and breakdown maintenance operations as needed.
  • Support equipment and facility upgrades with hands-on assistance and resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement of safety programs, maintenance programs, troubleshooting processes, and machine performance.
  • Ensure spare inventory for all equipment is sufficient for production requirements.
  • Participate as a member of the Safety Committee and own select/assigned safety programs.
  • Take an active role in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, accident prevention, accident investigation, safety training, and environmental rules.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to areas of responsibility.
  • Develop a cohesive, high-performing team by building team culture and setting performance expectations.
  • Partner with various centers of expertise to promote a positive work environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
  • Proficiency with computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Basic controls and vision system troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand government regulations.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering (or related discipline) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with maintenance, repair, and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and building facilities.
  • 3+ years of management experience.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this U.S.-based role is $83,500.00 - $125,200.00. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
