POSITION SUMMARY
Barton Malow is seeking a Sr. Superintendent for a thermal project in New Albany, OH. The Sr. Superintendent will manage the successful completion of assigned projects, enforce safety policies, organize the labor force, support budget management, develop site logistics, establish schedules, and communicate progress.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in developing work scopes and front-end documents for bidding to ensure clarity, participates in the bid process, and identifies potential contractors.
- Enforces corporate safety policies, including pre-task safety planning, and ensures safety compliance in the field.
- Organizes and manages the day-to-site labor force, supervises contractor work, and coordinates to minimize interference.
- Supports the Project Manager in budget management and forecasting by controlling costs and monitoring potential changes from contractors.
- Develops site logistics plans to maximize productivity and minimize impacts on building occupants.
- Establishes and implements the project baseline schedule, incorporating input from subcontractors and considering factors that could impact timing.
- Leads pull planning efforts and provides progress reports with a six-week look-ahead schedule to the Project Managers and field staff.
- Communicate daily issues, events, performance, and progress to the Project Managers while building effective relationships with clients, team members, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with thermal construction experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong understanding of applicable contracts and legal provisions.
- Ability to manage and embrace change, adapt to new processes, and handle competing priorities.
- Strong management skills to oversee trade partner performance and maintain high-quality standards.
- A strong sense of urgency and ability to resolve complex issues effectively and fairly.
- A team leader with excellent diplomatic and communication skills, able to handle and resolve conflicts assertively.
