AIE is looking for a Sr. Structural Design Engineer to join our team in our Exton, PA/Philadelphia area office. This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized professional to assist with design and QA/QC work for Pennsylvania regional projects.

AIE integrates advanced equipment and technology—including drones, laser scanning, artificial intelligence, and point-cloud mapping—into our infrastructure engineering services, enabling engineers to perform at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering tasks related to bridge design projects and other transportation-related structural design and analysis projects.
- Design steel, concrete, and/or timber bridge elements, walls, and associated structures.
- Perform structural analyses, develop calculations, and prepare plans in accordance with federal, state, and local agency requirements.
- Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, special provisions, and plans prepared by others.
- Manage and maintain project and QA/QC documentation.
- May perform site visits and structure inspections from time to time.
- Assist project managers with assignments including schedule and budget updates and proposal preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 7+ years in bridge design, with specific experience on Pennsylvania state DOT projects.
- NBIS bridge inspection and/or load rating experience will also be considered.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Proficiency with MicroStation.
- OpenRoads Bridge Modeler/OpenBridge is a plus.
- PennDOT CBSI is a plus.
