Sr Strategic Sales Account Rep (Remote- Northern California)
Brief Description
The SR. Strategic Account Representative (SR. SAR) role at School Specialty is an outside sales position that collaborates with the inside and outside sales teams to represent a wide range of products and services designed to create a 21st Century Learning Environment. Key responsibilities include assessing customer needs, positioning and presenting School Specialty’s offerings, building relationships, and managing sales opportunities.
Work Location
This is a work-from-home role with an expectation of 75% travel within the designated territory. Qualified candidates must reside in California in one of the following counties: Amador, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Placer, San Joaquin, Solano, Sutter, Yolo.
Compensation Information
Annual salary range of $90,000-$100,000 with a quarterly sales incentive plan.
What You’ll Do
- Develop Strategic Account Plans with specific objectives for each Strategic Product Category.
- Understand and promote School Specialty’s complete value proposition in the education market.
- Manage sales opportunities, from identification to post-sale support, by understanding customer needs and providing appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the School Specialty team sell model to achieve sales objectives across the company’s value proposition.
- Utilize tools like Stratum and OneForce to focus efforts on driving business and addressing white space opportunities.
- Establish and moderate regular team discussions around bonds and funding sources for complete learning environment opportunities.
- Manage and oversee bond/funding strategies, tactics, and activities within the School Specialty team sell model.
- Ensure alignment with corporate strategy and budget by managing travel & entertainment budgets and other business expenses.
- Complete ongoing proficiency and professional development training to stay updated on the latest industry trends and organizational operations.
What We Expect You To Bring To The Table
- 3-5 years’ experience in K-12 furniture, educational essentials, and equipment project management/sales or associated field.
- Strong sales process skills, including time management, territory management, financial management, and question and probing skills.
- Ability to build networks, including social media.
- Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license, and insurance in a compliant program.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 4-year college degree (Business, Marketing, or Education preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience in K-12 furniture, educational essentials, and equipment project management/sales.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
