Sr. Storekeeper

About the role

This position involves working as part of a team to provide safe, accurate, timely, and responsive food service to meet customer and patient needs. Responsibilities include receiving, rotating, stocking, and issuing food and supplies to support food service operations within Nutrition and Food Services and other UCSF Health units, as well as maintaining vendor relationships. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas and equipment, and may involve working in cold environments. This position serves as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department, ensuring excellent interactions with customers, patients, and staff. Reporting to the Supervisor of Food Services, this role does not oversee any employees but takes direction from Food Services Leads, Principal Food Service Workers, DTRs, and Dietitians.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, accurate, and timely food service to customers and patients.
• Receive, rotate, stock, and issue food and supplies to support food service operations.
• Maintain relationships with vendors.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas and equipment.
• Work in cold environments as required.
• Act as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department, ensuring positive interactions with customers, patients, and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience in food service, hospitality, retail, or in a storeroom, stockroom, or warehouse in a large institutional setting.
• Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and communicate clearly in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of college or equivalent.
• State of California Food Handler certification or ServSafe certification.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on factors such as work experience and internal equity.
