About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will support accounting operations across multiple manufacturing business units operating in a complex, multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for assigned entities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances from budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support external audits, lender reporting, and tax compliance activities.
Multi-Entity Reporting & Consolidations
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages across multiple legal entities and business units.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Aid with ownership structure changes, acquisitions, divestitures, and entity integrations.
- Support monthly reporting requirements for private equity sponsors, lenders, and executive leadership.
- Participate in cash flow reporting, covenant compliance reporting, and board presentation support.
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
- Support accounting for inventory, standard costing, labor and overhead absorption, and manufacturing variances.
- Analyze inventory reserves, cycle count adjustments, and physical inventory results.
- Partner with plant operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost reporting.
- Review production and operational metrics to identify financial trends and improvement opportunities.
- Aid with implementation and enhancement of inventory controls and manufacturing accounting processes.
ERP Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as a key accounting resource across multiple ERP platforms.
- Assist with ERP implementations, conversions, acquisitions, and system integrations.
- Reconcile data between ERP systems and reporting platforms to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and improve reporting tools, workflows, and automation opportunities.
- Pear with IT, operations, and finance teams to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls.
Private Equity & Executive Reporting
- Prepare monthly KPI dashboards, performance metrics, and executive reporting packages.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes.
- Provide ad hoc analysis related to profitability, working capital, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
- Aid leadership with financial analysis supporting acquisitions, integration activities, and strategic initiatives.
- Deliver concise financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience working in a multi-entity and/or multi-location environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and large transactional datasets.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- Experience in a private equity-backed company.
- Experience with multiple ERP systems and ERP implementations.
- Consolidation and intercompany accounting experience.
- Exposure to acquisitions, integrations, and system migrations.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $85k-$95k, depending on experience, and qualifications.
