Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect for Data & AI, Global Government

About the role

AWS is seeking a Solutions Architect to support US DoW and Federal Civilian Government customers in the DC Metro area. The ideal candidate will help customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions, solve technical problems, and consult on application architectures and integration approaches.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject matter expert on AWS data services including Glue, Athena, Redshift, and OpenSearch for our Account teams and customers.
• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
• Partner with Sales Specialist teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
• Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.

Qualifications

• Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering) preferred.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience in information security and compliance.
• Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services.
• Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
