Sr. Solutions Architect, Data Center & Cloud (NYC/NJ)

About the Role

Presidio is seeking a Sr. Solutions Architect to join our team in the New York and/or New Jersey area. The Senior Solutions Architect is expected to provide top-notch technical expertise supporting multiple key account teams across the organization. Responsibilities include gaining client trust through deep subject matter expertise, driving services sales, and aligning with various services teams such as PS, MS, NFS, PMO, and OSS.

The role involves understanding Presidio’s services capabilities, communicating pre-sales approaches, and providing leadership during project execution. The Senior Solutions Architect will deliver industry-best services to account managers, including pre-sales materials like BoMs, SoWs, design commentary, vendor information, diagrams, and rough order of magnitude documents. Continuous learning and alignment with vendor partnerships are essential to maintain relevant skills and execute vendor programs.

Additional responsibilities include acting as a trusted advisor to clients, leading with high-value offerings like managed services and consulting, and understanding Presidio’s full range of capabilities. The role also involves sharing best practices, supporting team members, assisting with pipeline tracking, and promoting the best professional services vehicles for client success.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers and account managers in pre-sales situations.
• Work effectively across functions with Sales, Marketing, Proposals, and Project Management teams.
• Meet with customers to collect requirements.
• Develop customer relationships and solutions alongside the account manager/sales team.
• Create high-level solution designs/architecture and present them to customers.
• Develop customer-facing presentations and articulate strategies in group settings.
• Create bills of materials and configurations for solutions.
• Build scope of services and professional service pricing.
• Write Statements of Work (SoWs).
• Proactively bring technical solutions to clients and educate them on Presidio-led solutions.
• Sell consultatively by listening to client needs and proposing solutions.
• Lead with high-value offerings such as managed services and consulting.
• Share best practices and industry intelligence with team members.
• Support other team members as needed (e.g., workload distribution, expertise sharing).
• Assist with pipeline tracking and determine the best professional services vehicle for client success.
• Create and maintain industry relevance through social media and attendance at OEM and customer events.
• Maintain long-term lifecycle strategy relationships with clients, ensuring their success and adding value.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
• 7+ years of experience demonstrating expertise in storage, virtualization, compute, converged, cloud, and/or related technologies/services.
• Work experience with relevant OEM manufacturers and/or IT solution providers/VAR/partners.

The successful Datacenter-Focused Senior Solutions Architect will have operational and design skills related to some or all of the following strategies, products, and technologies:

• The Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) utilizing:
• DELL EMC storage systems
• DELL EMC backup solutions
• Pure Storage
• Other storage systems such as NetApp, HPE, Vast Data
• VMWare ESXi, vCenter, NSX
• Nutanix Acropolis (KVM)
• Dell Servers
