Sr. Software Engineer, Estimate

About the role

We are seeking Full Stack Software Engineers to join our Higharc product suite. The primary focus is on the Estimate product, which transforms generative building designs into instant, reliable material takeoffs, significantly reducing the time needed for estimations.

Responsibilities

• Work across a broad spectrum of our product, including optimizing queries, building React components, establishing frontend state patterns, writing end-to-end tests, integrating external APIs, and occasionally delving into our CAD and geometry layers.
• Own projects end-to-end: collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product solutions, translate requirements into actionable engineering tasks, and communicate risks and opportunities early in the process.
• Maintain high code quality through risk-based testing and thoughtful code reviews.

Requirements

• Full-stack proficiency, including strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals and solid experience with React, Node.js, REST, and SQL.
• A track record of owning features end-to-end and guiding others towards success.
• Experience with graphics, geometry, or spatial programming is a plus, though not essential for day-to-day work.

Qualifications

• Generalist mindset, capable of moving fluidly across a codebase.
• Initiative-driven, willing to take on challenges and coordinate across functions to overcome obstacles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Skills

• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals.
• Solid experience with React, Node.js, REST, and SQL.
• Experience with graphics, geometry, or spatial programming is a plus.
