About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative team working on the Bolt platform, McKesson's AI-first enterprise application development platform. This role involves designing and building core components of the Bolt harness, developing tooling to facilitate reliable and efficient AI-assisted development, and strengthening enterprise security and compliance layers. As a key contributor, you will own the journey from specifications to production deployment across multiple environments, including CI/CD pipelines and secrets management. Your expertise will help set the technical standards, ensure high-quality code, and mentor junior team members. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the frontier of AI-assisted software development, shaping the future of enterprise health tech solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in building and shipping production software.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, architecture, and clean coding practices.
• Proficiency in full-stack development using TypeScript, Python, Go, and modern frontend technologies.
• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven automation mindset with a track record of scaling systems and eliminating manual toil.
• Customer-centric approach, grounding technical decisions in real user needs.
• Passion for the rapidly evolving AI landscape and agentic development.
• Experience managing projects from ambiguity to successful launch.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, action-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of the Bolt harness, including skills, commands, platform tools, and guardrails to ensure AI-generated code safety and compliance.
• Create tooling to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of agentic development processes, including orchestration, context/token optimization, and reusable templates.
• Enhance enterprise security layers through design systems, shift-left security practices, data integration, and automated verification and validation processes.
• Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle from specifications to deployment across multiple environments, including CI/CD workflows and secrets management.
• Set technical standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentorship to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and improve existing platform capabilities.
• Stay current with emerging AI and software development trends to continuously improve platform features and developer experience.
