Schedule

  • 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cold Room/Freezers: -22°F / -6°C
  • Fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold)
  • Laboratory setting
  • Office environment
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Standing for full shift
  • Exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.)
  • Various outside weather conditions
  • Warehouse environment
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials
  • Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work
  • Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
  • Regularly required to lift 30–40 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Regularly use equipment including pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts, etc. to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, outside, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Use inventory/order management electronic systems to perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing
  • Perform laboratory services such as order delivery, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and media preparation
  • Analyze, maintain, and reconcile various reports to ensure contractual requirements are met
  • Proactively connect with the supervisor regarding any customer concerns and/or potential problems and effectively address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes
  • Be involved with safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation as required
  • Engage in process improvement activities
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred
  • Experience working in customer service is a plus
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s values, including confidentiality
  • Strong desire to serve the customer and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site
  • Independently operate handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed, as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed
  • As a condition of employment, must successfully complete and satisfy Thermo Fisher’s pre-employment screening (including background check and drug test) and any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements
