About the role
As a Senior Specialist for database services, you will play a key role in positioning AWS as the cloud provider of choice for database services in the Retail, CPG industry. You will work closely with customers to migrate various database workloads to the AWS cloud, including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers and AWS account teams to advance qualified sales opportunities for enterprise application workloads and data center migration projects.
- Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) / sales programs and initiatives at scale with tangible results.
- Build and scale out programs for demand generation teams and AWS partners to advance database workload sales opportunities across a broad set of customers across the Americas.
- Build sales enablement tools, evangelize AWS platform, and build relationships with enterprise and mid-market customers as well as valued partners.
- Guide Americas cross-functional teams to drive database adoption on AWS across existing and new AWS customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- 5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
- 4+ years of database administration experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in Database Administration and strong troubleshooting skills (tuning and optimization, deadlocks, schema design)
- Experience with any Relational Database Engines (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLServer)
- 5+ years of database migration and modernization projects experience
- 8+ years as a Database Administrator (DBA) Specialist with hands-on database administration experience, including experience in Database Management & Maintenance, Performance Optimization, Security & Compliance, High Availability & Disaster Recovery, Data Migration & Integration and Collaboration & Support
Qualifications
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases
- Experience with industry standard tools and scripting languages (Python or Perl) for automation
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra)
