About the role

The Sr Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide advanced respiratory care services, including neonatal resuscitation, to patients in a critical care setting. This position requires a minimum of four years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, with at least two years in a critical care level. Neonatal experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced respiratory treatments such as intubation, EBUS, ECMO, etc., under the direction of physicians.
  • Coordinates departmental activities and serves as a resource for specialized equipment and software implementation.
  • Teaches, orients, and precepts newly hired Respiratory Care Practitioners and students.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and maintaining departmental equipment and quality control.
  • Provides patient teaching and discharge planning based on individual needs.
  • Ensures compliance with department and hospital quality and safety standards.
  • Participates in innovation and improvement initiatives within the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Program.
  • Four years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, with at least two years in a critical care level.
  • Preferred Neonatal experience.
  • Required licenses and certifications: RCP, RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced respiratory treatments safely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems for patient and exam document management.
  • Ability to handle challenging and difficult patient care situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills.
  • Sound judgment and execution of clinical skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
  • Required licenses and certifications: BLS, ACLS.
