Responsibilities
- Perform DNA assembly, cloning, transformation, construct screening, plasmid preparation, and related molecular biology workflows.
- Manage large numbers of DNA constructs, samples, reagents, and intermediate products.
- Perform quality-control assays such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing sample preparation, and related validation methods.
- Troubleshoot failed or low-yield assemblies.
- Maintain accurate records of sample identity, batch outcomes, QC results, and process deviations.
- Follow, revise, and improve standard operating procedures.
- Coincide timelines to ensure DNA products are generated, validated, and delivered reliably.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, equipment maintenance, lab organization, and safety compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma; hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques.
- Working knowledge of general laboratory practices.
- Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple samples, constructs, and deadlines in parallel.
- Able to follow protocols and maintain accurate records.
- Strong manual dexterity and clean bench technique.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to recognize unexpected results and report problems promptly.
- Commitment to high-quality work.
- Able to follow safety procedures.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of specialized lab experience; experience with DNA assembly, cloning, plasmid.
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, genetics, microbiology, biotechnology, or related field.
