Sr. Research Associate, In Vivo Pharm
About the role
The Role Moderna is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the In Vivo Pharmacology team in support of autoimmune disease programs. This is a hands-on vivarium-based role focused primarily on autoimmune and inflammatory models, including immune cell modulation and pharmacodynamic assessment of novel therapeutic candidates.
Responsibilities
- Execute in vivo studies supporting autoimmune disease programs, including evaluation of immune cell modulation, inflammatory readouts, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic efficacy
- Perform hands-on in vivo procedures including compound administration by multiple routes (IM, IP, IV, SC), blood collection, tissue collection, necropsy, and clinical observations
- Partner with research leads to support study design, endpoint selection, data interpretation, and troubleshooting
- Cook up study logistics, including dosing schedules, sample collection plans, reagent preparation, and communication with research partners
- Analyze, visualize, and summarize study data using established tools and templates, with guidance from senior team members
- Maintain clear and timely documentation, including data collection, sample inventories, protocols, and study summaries
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with IACUC, animal welfare, biosafety, and institutional policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of hands-on in vivo research experience with demonstrated ability to execute studies with increasing independence
- Experience performing common in vivo procedures including mouse handling, dosing, blood collection, tissue harvest, necropsy, and clinical monitoring
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality data generation, documentation, and reproducibility
- Ability to follow study protocols, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with scientific and operational team members
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment
- Commitment to animal welfare, ethical research practices, and compliance with IACUC-approved protocols
- Hands-on laboratory and vivarium-based role; holiday and weekend work may be required
- Able to lift, move, or handle laboratory materials in accordance with safety guidelines
Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on in vivo research experience with demonstrated ability to execute studies with increasing independence
- Experience with autoimmune or inflammatory disease models
- Familiarity with oncology or immuno-oncology models is desirable but not required
- Proficiency with GraphPad Prism and Excel; experience with Benchling

Pay & Schedule
The salary range for this role is $74,000.00 - $118,400.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
