As a Senior Recruiter focused on physician recruitment, you will lead strategic efforts to identify, engage, and secure top physician talent, directly influencing patient access and care across North Central Pennsylvania.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Monday–Friday, dayshift schedule
  • Infrequent evening or weekend responsibilities (primarily phone-based)
  • On-site during orientation, then hybrid flexibility (1–2 days/week remote)
  • Flexible, dynamic workdays with a high degree of autonomy
  • Occasional travel to various North Central PA sites for physician visits and stakeholder meetings

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for physician roles, with a focus on hard-to-fill and high-demand specialties
  • Develop and execute innovative, cost-effective sourcing strategies to identify and engage top physician talent in niche & hard-to-fill specialties
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines through networking, professional organizations, residency and fellowship programs, and referral sources
  • Partner closely with operational, clinical, and HR leadership to understand workforce needs and align recruitment strategies
  • Function as an internal search firm for specialized physician recruitment efforts, delivering high-touch, consultative service
  • Coordinate and participate in site visits, candidate experiences, and recruitment events to showcase UPMC opportunities
  • Analyze recruitment data, labor market trends, and turnover insights to inform strategy and improve outcomes
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment vendors and support contingent/retained search processes when needed
  • Ensure all recruitment activities remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required and 3 years of recruitment experience required. OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of recruitment experience required.
  • Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems required.
  • Experience designing and implementing models to find applicants for hard-to-fill positions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the health care field preferred.
