The Radiation Department is an outpatient department providing radiation therapy to both outpatients and hospitalized patients, primarily treating malignant tumors. The department performs simulation, 3D simulation, dosimetry, and radiation treatment procedures, including brachytherapy and teletherapy (such as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy), adhering to standards set by the department Medical Director, state, and federal regulations. Patients range in age from 18 years and above.

Schedule

• Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (hours may vary)
• No call, weekends, or holidays

Responsibilities

• Performs patient treatments utilizing ionizing radiation under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.
• Prepares patient and chart prior to the start of procedures.
• Delivers accurate and consistent treatments to patients.
• Completes treatment process and coordinates patient scheduling.
• Operates the TrueBeam linac.
• Teaches students and presents current cases.

Requirements

• Completed an accredited Certified Radiation Therapy program.
• Board Certified by the ARRT (RT(T)).
• Certified Radiation Therapist with 2 or more years of experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years of radiation therapy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Radiation Therapy.
