About the role

The Sr. Quality Technician - Calibration Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's calibration program. This role ensures that all measuring and test equipment is identified, tracked, calibrated, and maintained in accordance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards. The position coordinates calibration activities with internal stakeholders and external service providers but does not perform calibration services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the calibration system, database, and asset records for the BP2 Facility.
  • Partner with facility/maintenance stakeholders to maintain equipment availability.
  • Develop and manage calibration schedules to ensure all equipment is calibrated within required intervals.
  • Monitor calibration due dates and coordinate timely completion of calibration activities.
  • Generate and distribute calibration status reports to relevant departments.
  • Ensure equipment identification, labeling, and traceability requirements are maintained.
  • Review calibration certificates and records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage equipment additions, transfers, retirements, and disposals within the calibration system.
  • Coordinate calibration activities with approved external calibration laboratories and service providers.
  • Support investigation and resolution of out-of-tolerance calibration events.
  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) of equipment which is past calibration due dates or is identified as out of calibration.
  • Verify that equipment is properly classified and assigned appropriate calibration intervals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and facility personnel regarding equipment requirements.
  • Support measurement system analysis activities as needed.
  • Review new equipment purchases to ensure calibration and traceability requirements are established.
  • Identify opportunities to improve calibration program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to calibration compliance.
  • Recommend process improvements, software enhancements, and best practices.
  • Support digitalization and automation initiatives related to calibration management.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or regulated industry environment.
  • Experience administering calibration programs or managing controlled quality system processes preferred.
  • Experience working within ISO-based quality management systems highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement traceability, and equipment control requirements.
  • Familiarity with calibration management software and database systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to move throughout manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect and inventory measurement equipment.

Pay

$35 - $47 hourly, depending on skills and experience.
