Senior Calibration Technician

  • Perform calibration work with little to no supervision
  • Proficient with Electrical calibrations.
  • RF calibration experience is preferred.
  • Cook conduct independent research when necessary
  • Cook Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from the service manager
  • Cook Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
  • Cook Maintain calibration standards
  • Cook Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made
  • Cook Read and interpret labs’ scopes of accreditation
  • Cook Work effectively with lab support staff
  • Cook Working knowledge and competency in eight (8) disciplines and expert in three (3) disciplines preferred
  • Cook Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer onsite setting
  • Cook Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction
  • Cook Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
  • Cook Other duties as assigned
  • Cook Travel requirement: up to 50% of work schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cook Call upon high-level skills, techniques, and processes to calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust a high volume of high-level equipment with few errors
  • Cook Coordinate work schedule for the lab
  • Cook Prepare detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties
  • Cook Develop and implement process improvements
  • Cook Develop team lead skills and responsibilities
  • Cook Train and advise lower-level technicians
  • Cook Deliver on Transcat’s Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

  • Cook Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
  • Cook Elite interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Cook Excellent attention to detail
  • Cook Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
  • Cook Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
  • Cook Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Cook 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history

Education and Experience

  • Cook Required: Associates degree from college or technical school; or six+ (6+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Cook Preferred: Six+ (6+) years of commercial calibration experience
  • Cook CCT or CMT certification
  • Cook Extensive statistical background
  • Cook Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Cook Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Cook Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to read, write, talk, and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally will be required to lift up to 75 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
