Senior Calibration Technician
- Minimum of six (6) years commercial calibration experience preferred
- Proficiency and expertise in eight (8) disciplines and expert in three (3) disciplines
- CCT or CMT certification desired
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform calibration work with little to no supervision
- Conduct independent research when necessary
- Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from the service manager
- Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
- Maintain calibration standards
- Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made
- Read and interpret labs’ scopes of accreditation
- Work effectively with lab support staff
- Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction
- Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
- Call upon high-level skills, techniques, and processes to calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust a high volume of high-level equipment with few errors
- Coordinate work schedule for the lab
- Prepare detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Develop team lead skills and responsibilities
- Train and advise lower-level technicians
- Deliver on Transcat’s Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001)
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Qualifications
- Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
- Elite interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong electronics skills required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Well-versed in electrical, temperature, torque, and pressure calibrations
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
- Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
- Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
- 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history
Education And Experience
- Required: Associates degree from college or technical school; or six+ (6+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred: Six+ (6+) years of commercial calibration experience
- CCT or CMT certification
- Extensive statistical background
- Six+ (6+) years of electrical calibration experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
- Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
Physical Demands
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
