The Sr. Quality Engineering Staff Manager will demonstrate technical expertise and leadership, assisting the Center of Excellence (COE) in developing a strategic vision, leading quality engineers, and executing priorities through project leadership, mentorship, technical expertise, and tactical execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic vision for product and process quality across cells and centers of excellence
  • Partner with cell leadership to establish and execute a robust audit plan
  • Mentor and coach manufacturing and quality engineers on quality systems and process improvement
  • Lead efforts to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improve operational performance
  • Drive simplification and reporting solutions to improve response time and issue resolution
  • Lead cross-functional engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts to improve first-pass yield
  • Own the quality and technical framework to ensure Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) and compliance requirements are met
  • Lead customer resolution activities and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Develop and sustain training on manufacturing processes and quality systems
  • Maintain process documentation and promote best-practice sharing across the organization
  • Provide advanced quality engineering support for new products, processes, and technologies
  • Report performance, risks, and progress to senior business leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing or similar industry experience
  • 8+ years of experience in production processes and equipment
  • Experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering in a technical or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of preventive quality tools, lean principles, and continuous improvement methods
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Deep technical expertise and understanding of underlying principles and methodologies

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in automotive and/or aerospace industries
  • Deep understanding of Lean principles and the Toyota Production System
  • Experience leading small teams
  • Proven ability to improve processes, reduce defects, and drive accountability
  • Experience building training programs and developing technical talent

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $122,600.00 - $204,400.00 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. A geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary may apply in certain areas.
