Sr Mechanical Assembler
About the role
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to join our highly skilled team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong aptitude for working with tools, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment to perform precise assembly work.
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet performance and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and identify issues during the assembly process and recommend corrective measures if needed.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Document assembly processes and maintain records of completed work.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical assembly is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency with mechanical tools and assembly equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and move heavy materials when required.
- Familiarity with safety practices and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a team structure, including working directly with the Engineering team.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic and hand tooling.
- Leverage lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, CAD for assembly instructions.
- Previous experience in aerospace, automotive, or electronics.
