Position Summary
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Improve plant capacity and efficiency for all GCC Plants through process optimization and capital projects.
- Analyze existing processes to improve throughput, quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Supervise and coordinate contractor’s on-site work force to ensure compliance with plant procedures and policies.
- Manage and support multiple efforts simultaneously.
- Ensure ESH policies and procedures are followed and documented.
- Develop processes and equipment with sustainability in mind, supporting triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit.
- Work with plant teams (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, etc.) and GCC Engineering resources across plants to develop best practices for continuous process and product improvements.
- Support procurement in identifying, selecting, and managing outside contractors to ensure quality work is completed in a timely and safe manner.
- Execute all Capital Projects in accordance with HEM Capex procedures.
- Evaluate new processing and milling technologies.
- Design and conduct test programs for new or modified products.
- Provide Engineering support to GCC customers.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- A minimum of a 4-year engineering degree at an accredited university with at least 10 years experience in manufacturing.
- Experience evaluating the performance of existing and new processes, making recommendations based on these evaluations, and successfully implementing process improvements.
- Experience with structured processes and tools, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, RCA.
- Ability to manage time and priorities to effectively handle multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and budget requirements.
- Excellent communication and team skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD design.
- Ability to travel up to 10-50% of the time to support other GCC Plants.
- Read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOP’s, MSDS, and various production schedules / reports and engineering drawings.
- Experience in mineral processing is preferred.
