Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing sites to resolve production and quality problems.
- Implement corporate manufacturing, reliability, and process safety initiatives.
- Lead process optimization and plant testing initiatives to increase capacity, improve product quality, reduce operating costs, or enhance operating reliability.
- Transfer technology for new products or processes from Research and Development to manufacturing sites.
- Develop process engineering portions of project scopes and function as a Process Licensor for capital projects, including creating PFDs, HMBs, PIDs, equipment data sheets, operating descriptions, and functional descriptions.
- Provide input to discipline engineering, ensure integrated design, and offer construction monitoring and startup support.
Requirements
- Experience in the chemical industry, preferably in a plant or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read P&IDs and exposure to process and instrumentation diagrams.
- Proficiency in technical writing or SOP writing with experience in documenting processes for implementation.
- Proven process improvement and continuous improvement support work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with production workers and safety teams.
Essential Skills
- Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience in industries such as oil and gas or consumer products dealing with raw materials.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, including operators on the floor.
