Sr Production Technician 1st shift

About the role

Responsible for all aspects of the Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating process to produce quality eyewear that meets customer standards. Primary responsibility includes the daily operation and maintenance of large-capacity AR coating machines and final quality inspection of outgoing lenses. The Sr Production Technician ensures adherence to company quality and safety requirements during all operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate large-capacity AR coating machines.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance of vacuum coating chambers and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of all processes and maintenance for machines.
• Clean machines and prepare them for operation.
• Inspect lenses for accuracy and defects; log any scratches or conditions found.
• Place lenses into appropriate tooling based on diameter and shape.
• Load lenses into AR coating machines and select correct recipes and chemicals.
• Perform parts change-outs and other maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
• Conduct quality testing on finished products.
• Perform final inspection of batch-coated lenses to ensure cosmetic standards are met.
• Verify coating performance and ensure it meets desired specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine/equipment issues and collaborate with supervisors to resolve them.
• Pack completed work and review rejected lenses for re-work or proper breakage coding.
• Sandblast machine parts as needed.
• Follow standard procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Provide recommendations to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value-added tasks, and reduce costs.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and common department spaces.
• Adhere to company and manufacturer policies, including attendance and safety regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA-protected information.
• Assist others to maintain workflow, meet deadlines, and balance workloads.
• Cooperate with colleagues and maintain a positive attitude.
• Deliver an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time.
• Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance to less experienced employees.
• Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals and safety training.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to multi-task, focus on detail, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift up to 15 pounds above head.
• Specific vision abilities required, including close vision.

Pay

Starting at $20.75 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors such as geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. May include a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
