About the Role

Develops and modifies process formulations, methods, and controls to meet quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements, modifications, or additions to document work. Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules. Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve output, quality, and cost goals.
  • Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.
  • Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve.
  • Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy, and raw materials.
  • May act as a knowledge resource and guide for less experienced engineers.
  • May work on processes for new or more complex products.
  • Intimate/hands-on knowledge of Multi-Axis Wind Machines.
  • Experience with specifying equipment and machine configurations.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA’s and Control Plans.
  • Experience leading and participating in problem solving (PDCA/A3/RCA).
  • Knowledge of CWS and Wind Machine Programming.
  • Experience with setup and verification of new equipment.
  • Experience with reading engineering drawings with an emphasis on GD&T.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience (Engineering degree required).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work may require exposure to changing climate and/or operating machinery.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
  • Less than 25% travel likely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • CAD Software, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software, Equipment Evaluation, Mathematical Modeling, Process Engineering, Process Mapping, Requirements Engineering/Analysis, Statistical Process Control.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of Product Design and Data Analysis.
