About the role
This role is critical to ensuring high-quality output, process efficiency, and alignment with Lenovo’s global manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
- Manufacturing Process Development: Design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixtures.
- Supplier and Manufacturing Management: Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processes.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Risk Management: Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing floor.
- Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Systems software, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in server manufacturing or technical production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven leadership in cross-functional and cross-geo projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Linux systems, server hardware, and enterprise fulfillment operations.
